Rules and etiquette
Off-leash areas give your dog a chance to run, play and socialise. To keep these spaces safe and enjoyable for everyone, please follow the Responsible Pet Ownership By-law 2018-063.
- Keep your dog under control. Always use voice commands or a leash if needed. A frightened or aggressive dog can cause serious injuries.
- Clean up after your dog. Bring bags and dispose of waste in the bins provided. Failing to pick up after your dog can result in a fine.
- Respect other park users. Keep noise down, especially early in the morning or late at night. Give children, seniors and other dogs plenty of space.
- Leash your dog outside the area. Dogs must be on a leash at all times when entering or leaving the off-leash zone, and in all other parks and trails.
Our off-leash locations
Wrenford currently offers designated off-leash areas where your dog can exercise freely. All dogs must be licensed with the province.

Benchlands Lookout Park Off-Leash Area
500 Benchlands Drive, Wrenford, ON N4Q 2A8
Open year-round from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. This newer area includes a gravel and grass surface, dog water fountains, and shaded benches.
Winter care and seasonal notes
Our off-leash areas remain open through the winter. However, heavy snow and ice can make some surfaces slippery or hard to navigate. Please keep your dog on a short leash in deep snow and watch for salt or de-icing chemicals. Waste bins are emptied regularly, but please bring extra bags during heavy snowfall.
