Larch Heights Tree Planting Day
Get your hands dirty and help make Wrenford greener. The City of Wrenford is hosting a volunteer tree planting day in the Larch Heights neighbourhood. This event is a great way to meet your neighbours and improve our local environment.
When and Where
The event takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Volunteers should arrive at 9:00 a.m. for registration and a brief orientation. Planting begins at 9:30 a.m. and is expected to finish by 1:00 p.m. Meet at the community centre parking lot on King Street.
What to Expect
You do not need any experience. The Parks & Trails department will provide all tools, saplings, and mulch. We will plant native species in the green spaces along the riverbank trail. Please wear sturdy boots and clothes that can get muddy. Gloves will be provided, but you may bring your own if you prefer.
Registration
Spaces are limited to 50 participants. You must register in advance to ensure we have enough supplies. Register by calling 519-555-0100 or emailing [email protected]. Please include the number of people in your group and any accessibility needs.
Rules and Safety
All volunteers must sign a liability waiver at registration. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. We will provide water and light snacks. If it rains heavily, the event will be postponed to May 23, 2020. Check the City website or call Wrenford 311 for updates.
