Fallsview Park Renovation Project

The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Fallsview Park renovation project. This initiative, which took place throughout the spring and summer of 2019, has transformed the space into a safer and more accessible environment for all residents. The upgrades were funded through the 2019 Capital Improvement Plan and delivered on schedule.

Playground Upgrades

The old playground equipment has been completely removed and replaced with modern, inclusive structures. The new play area features accessible surfacing made of poured-in-place rubber, ensuring a safe landing surface for children of all abilities. The equipment includes multi-level play structures, swings, and a sensory garden section. All installations comply with current safety standards set by the City’s Parks & Trails department.

Pathway Improvements

The paved pathways surrounding the playground and connecting to the main entrance have been resurfaced. The City removed cracked concrete sections and installed new asphalt lanes that are wider and smoother. This improvement supports better access for strollers, wheelchairs, and pedestrians. The pathways now connect seamlessly with the broader network of trails in the area. For more information on other routes, see [[Find hiking and cycling trails | Find hiking and cycling trails]].

Landscaping and Amenities

Alongside the structural changes, the City planted new native shrubs and trees to enhance the natural beauty of the park. Benches and trash receptacles have been installed at regular intervals. The lighting around the perimeter has been upgraded to LED fixtures to improve visibility and reduce energy consumption. Residents can now enjoy the park well into the evening hours.

Next Steps

The project is now complete, and the park is open for public use. The City’s maintenance crews will begin regular upkeep, including grass mowing and litter collection, starting in early October 2019. If you notice any issues with the new equipment or pathways, please report them to the City by calling 519-555-0100 or using the Wrenford 311 service line.
