Register for a library card

Getting a library card is the first step to unlocking a world of knowledge, entertainment, and community resources. As a resident of Wrenford, you are eligible for a free membership that grants you access to our extensive collection of physical books, audiobooks, and digital materials. This membership also allows you to reserve study rooms, attend local programs, and borrow technology from the main branch.

What you need to apply

To ensure the security of our services and to verify your residency, we require specific documentation when you register. Please bring the following items with you when you visit the library or submit your application:

  • Proof of identity: You must provide one piece of government-issued photo identification. Acceptable forms include a valid Ontario driver’s licence, a Canadian passport, or a provincial photo identification card.
  • Proof of address: You must provide one document that confirms your current Wrenford mailing address. This can be a utility bill, a bank statement, a lease agreement, or a government-issued letter dated within the last three months. The name on the document must match the name on your photo identification.

If you are a child under the age of sixteen, a parent or legal guardian must accompany them to the registration desk. The guardian must present their own valid photo identification and proof of address. The guardian will be responsible for the account and any materials borrowed by the minor.

How to register

You can complete your registration in person at the Central Library branch. Our friendly staff are available to assist you with the process and answer any questions you may have about library services. You can reach the main information line at 519-555-0100 if you need to confirm branch hours or specific requirements before your visit.

If you prefer to start the process online, you may fill out the preliminary registration form available on the Library Services webpage. Please note that completing the online form does not finalize your membership. You will still need to visit a branch in person with your physical documents to activate your card and receive your library PIN. This step is mandatory for all new members to verify identity securely.

Using your card

Once you have your library card, you can use it to borrow items for up to three weeks. You can renew most items online or by phone if you need more time. Your card also provides access to our digital platform, where you can stream movies, read e-books, and listen to audiobooks from anywhere. Simply log in with your library card number and the PIN you created during registration.
