COVID-19 recreation facility reopening plan
Starting June 1, 2021, the City of Wrenford is implementing a phased reopening of all recreation facilities. This plan ensures public safety while allowing residents to enjoy our parks and centres. You must follow all provincial guidelines and City by-laws at all times.
Phase 1: Outdoor Spaces and Limited Indoor Access
Effective June 1, 2021, outdoor sports fields, tracks, and artificial turf fields are open. You can book these spaces through the City’s online portal. Capacity is limited to 50% of the facility’s standard usage. For example, a full-size soccer field allows a maximum of 10 players per side. You must register for time slots in advance. Walk-ins are not permitted for organized activities.
Outdoor skating rinks and pools remain closed until further notice. Check the [[Holiday hours for recreation | holiday hours]] page for updates on seasonal closures.
Phase 2: Indoor Facilities with Restrictions
Indoor gyms, fieldhouses, and arenas will reopen on July 15, 2021, with strict capacity limits. Indoor capacity is capped at 25% of fire code maximums. You must book [[Book a gymnasium or fieldhouse | gymnasium time]] or [[Book an arena or ice time | ice time]] online. No drop-in activities are allowed. All participants must show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours. Masks are mandatory in all indoor common areas, including locker rooms and lobbies.
Locker rooms are closed. You must arrive dressed for activity and leave immediately after your session. Showers and change rooms are unavailable until Phase 3.
Booking and Fees
All bookings must be made through the City’s online system. You can [[Booking amendment or cancellation | amend or cancel]] your reservation up to 24 hours before the start time. Late cancellations or no-shows will result in a $25 fee. Standard rental rates apply. If you need financial help, visit the [[Fee assistance for leisure centres | fee assistance]] page.
Groups larger than 10 people are not permitted in indoor facilities. You must [[Facility rental application | submit a rental application]] for any special events. All renters must provide [[Facility rental insurance requirements | proof of insurance]].
Safety Protocols
Hand sanitizer stations are located at all entrances. You must maintain 2 metres of distance from others not in your household. Staff will enforce these rules. Violations may result in removal from the facility and a ban from City services.
