Access cultural diversity resources

Find settlement support, cultural grants, library collections, and community events that celebrate Wrenford’s diverse neighbourhoods.

Settlement and newcomer support

If you are new to Wrenford or helping a family member settle, our Newcomer Welcome Programme connects you with free language referrals, employment guidance, and housing information. You can visit the Cultural Diversity Resource Hub in the main lobby at City Hall or call our settlement workers directly. We work with local partners to make sure you know your rights and can access services across the city.

For income support and employment assistance, visit the Ontario Works page. The city also runs a settlement outreach pilot that visits community centres and libraries monthly to answer questions about transit passes, school registration, and health coverage.

Library and archives collections

The Wrenford Public Library maintains a growing collection of books, audiobooks, and digital resources in more than fifteen languages. You can reserve materials online or visit the main branch to speak with a librarian about reading groups and cultural story hours. All branches offer free Wi-Fi and public computer access.

If you are researching family history or local cultural heritage, the Old Mill Museum & Archives holds historical photographs, oral history recordings, and community records. Researchers can request access to the reading room during open hours.

Cultural grants and community spaces

Local groups and individuals can apply for the Multicultural Community Grants programme to host festivals, workshops, or exhibition spaces. The city provides up to $5,000.00 per eligible organisation each year, with no application fee. You will need to submit a simple project outline and a budget through the Community arts funding grants portal.

Once approved, you can book a space for your event at venues like Fallsview Arts Centre, Railside Gallery, or any of the city parks. Park shelters and community halls are available for cultural gatherings, and you can find full rental rates on the Facility rental rates page.

Upcoming events and volunteering

Wrenford celebrates its diverse communities through seasonal festivals, heritage months, and cultural markets. Check the Participate in culture days page for the full calendar, or sign up for service alerts to get notified about pop-up markets and art walks. You can also volunteer to help organise these events or join the city’s cultural advisory circle.
