Become a certified first aid instructor
Want to share lifesaving skills with Wrenford? Wrenford Paramedic Services runs instructor training courses that teach you how to deliver Intermediate First Aid and CPR-C programmes to teens and adults. Once certified, you can teach in community centres, schools, and workplaces across the city.
Teaching first aid is rewarding. You help build a safer community, gain leadership experience, and add a valuable credential to your resume. Instructors are eligible to lead City-run certification sessions and can apply for teaching positions with local employers.
Certification and requirements
Our courses meet Canadian Red Cross and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) standards. Instructors are qualified to deliver workplace-approved Intermediate First Aid and CPR-C training.
- Age: 12 and older
- Prerequisites: A current, non-expired Canadian Red Cross Intermediate First Aid and CPR-C certificate
- Validity: Instructor certification is valid for three years from the date of issue
- Duration: 14 to 16 hours of instruction
What lessons are like
Classes blend classroom theory with hands-on practice. You will learn how to plan lessons, manage a training group, and demonstrate First Aid and CPR techniques clearly. You will also be assessed on your ability to teach effectively.
Bring comfortable clothing, a water bottle, and a snack. Pens and paper are recommended for note-taking. All training mannequins, AED trainers, and medical supplies are provided.
Registration and fees
The course fee is $85.00. Registration is managed through the Wrenford Live and Play portal. You can also call our administration line at 519-555-0116 during business hours or email [email protected] for group bookings and support.
Cancellation policy: Full refunds are available if you cancel at least 48 hours before the course starts. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable, but you may transfer your spot to another person.
