Report a parking violation
If you see a vehicle parked illegally in Wrenford, you can report it to By-law Enforcement. We review every report and take action when the law is broken. You can file a report online, by phone, or in person.
What you can report
You can report any parking violation covered under the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075. Common violations include:
- Parking in front of a fire hydrant, driveway, or crosswalk
- Blocking access to a bus stop or loading zone
- Leaving a vehicle on a street for more than three hours without living or working there
- Parking a recreational vehicle on a residential street without permission
- Using a disabled parking placard without authorization
- Double parking or stopping in a travel lane
How to submit a report
The fastest way to report a violation is through the Wrenford 311 portal. You can also call 311 from a Wrenford phone or 519-555-0100 from outside the city. In-person reports are accepted at the Service Wrenford counter, Room 100, Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street.
When you report, please have the following ready:
- The exact street address or nearest intersection
- The vehicle's licence plate number and province of registration
- The type of violation and how long the vehicle has been there
- A clear photo of the vehicle showing the plate and its position relative to signs or hydrants
- Your name and contact number (reports are confidential, and anonymous complaints cannot be acted upon)
What happens after you report
By-law officers review all submissions during standard business hours. You will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number. Our team typically reviews reports within three business days. If an officer confirms the violation, they will issue a ticket or a warning to the registered owner. You will not receive details about enforcement actions, but your report helps keep our streets safe and accessible.
Fees and fines
Penalties for parking violations are set out in the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075. Fines vary depending on the offence, ranging from $45.00 for minor time-limit violations to $250.00 for serious infractions like blocking a fire hydrant or a driveway. Repeated offences can carry higher penalties and may result in towing. You can pay a fine online, by phone, or at the Provincial Offences Court, 120 Church Street.
