Industrial Park East Noise By-law
You may have noticed increased activity in Industrial Park East throughout 2022. As a result, the City of Wrenford has been actively enforcing the municipal noise by-law to ensure the area remains productive and respectful for all businesses and nearby residents.
If you hear excessive noise from a business or construction site in this zone, you can Report a noise complaint through our 311 service line or online portal. Our by-law officers take every report seriously. In 2022, we issued over forty warnings and ten fines for violations that exceeded the permitted decibel limits after 6:00 p.m. on weekdays.
We remind all industrial operators that heavy machinery operation is restricted between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. without a special permit. If you believe a business is operating outside these hours, please Report a by-law infraction so our team can investigate promptly.
Compliance is key. Many businesses have already adjusted their schedules to avoid penalties. If you are planning a project that requires extended hours, you must apply for a variance before January 15, 2023. Late applications will not be accepted for the current fiscal year.
