Wildrye flood mitigation project

You are reading the official construction updates for the 2023 flood protection works in Wildrye. The City of Wrenford is actively building new infrastructure to protect your home from rising waters. This project is a key part of our broader Flood preparedness and prevention strategy.

Current construction status

As of October 30, 2023, crews are finalizing the retaining walls along the eastern boundary of Wildrye. You may notice increased heavy machinery traffic on local roads between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Please follow all posted detours and signage. Workers are present daily, and safety is our top priority.

What you need to know

During this period, you must not enter construction zones. These areas are marked with orange fencing and signage. If you see damage to your property or notice unusual water accumulation near the work sites, contact the City immediately.

For questions about specific property impacts, call 519-555-0100. For service requests related to the construction, dial Wrenford 311. You can also email the project team at [email protected].

Preparing for the wet season

While construction continues, you should prepare your property for the upcoming rainy season. Check your Basement flooding and seepage mitigation measures. Ensure your gutters are clear and your sump pump is working. If you live in a flood-prone area, review the Flood risk maps and information for your zone.
