Ontario Works income reporting

A guide for Ontario Works recipients in Wrenford on how and when to report changes in income or employment.

Report changes in your income

You must tell us about any changes to your employment or household income. This includes changes in the amount of money you earn, or if you start or stop working. You also need to report changes in other sources of income, such as employment insurance, pensions, or child support.

Reporting these changes helps us ensure your benefits are correct. If you do not report changes, you may have to pay back money you received, or face penalties.

When to report

You must report changes within 7 days of the change occurring. Do not wait for your next report. If you are unsure if something counts as a change, contact us to ask.

How to report

You can report changes in several ways:

  • Online: Use the client portal to update your details securely.
  • Phone: Call the service line at Wrenford 311.
  • In person: Visit your local Ontario Works office.
  • Mail: Send a signed letter with details to the Ontario Works office.

What information to provide

When you report, include:

  • Your name and client number.
  • The date the change started.
  • The amount of the change.
  • Any supporting documents, such as a pay stub or a letter from your employer.
