Youth council announces new members for 2026 term

The City of Wrenford is pleased to welcome five new members to the Wrenford Youth Council. The newly appointed members will serve a one-year term beginning February 1, 2026, and ending January 31, 2027.

The new council members are:

  • Beatriz Lopes, a Benchlands resident
  • Colin Ashby, a Kingfisher resident
  • Deepa Iyer, a Larch Heights resident
  • Ethan Moreau, a Wildrye resident
  • Hannah Kwiatkowski, a Northgate resident

"We are thrilled to have such a diverse group of young leaders join our council," said City Manager Robert Eng. "Youth Council provides a direct line for young people aged 16 to 22 to share their ideas, research community issues, and make recommendations to City Council. Their fresh perspectives are vital as we plan for the future of Wrenford."

The Wrenford Youth Council meets monthly at Wrenford City Hall. Members advise council on issues affecting young residents, help organize city-wide youth events, and review policies to ensure they meet the needs of younger generations. The council also works closely with the Seniors program to promote intergenerational programming, ensuring that residents of all ages can connect and participate in community life.

Residents interested in joining future youth councils, or any other city board or committee, can find application details on the City Government page. The next intake period for general city boards is expected in the fall of 2026.
