Wrenford water main flushing begins March 16 in the east end

City of Wrenford crews will begin spring water main flushing in the east end on Monday, March 16. The work targets neighbourhoods along Eastfield Road, Ambrel Lake Road and the Concession 4 corridor. Flushing is a routine maintenance step that clears sediment from pipes and checks water pressure across the system.

During flushing, you might notice your water looks cloudy or brown. This is normal and not a sign of a problem with the treatment plant. To clear your pipes, run the coldest tap in your home for five to ten minutes until the water runs clear. Do not use hot water during this time, as it can draw sediment into your hot water tank.

You may also see lower water pressure while crews work in your area. This usually lasts only a few minutes per block. If you need to wash dishes or do laundry, wait until the water looks clear again.

"Flushing keeps our drinking water safe and our pipes running smoothly," says Patrick Nguyen, Water Operations Manager. "We ask residents to watch for the door knockers and text alerts so they know when crews are nearby."

Wrenford Transit and other services are not affected. If you have questions or need help, contact the City at 519-555-0100 or email [email protected]. You can also sign up for free text and email alerts at the Service Alerts page so you never miss a route update.
