Wrenford Paramedic Services Headquarters HVAC repair 2026

City infrastructure crews will begin upgrading the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system at the Wrenford Paramedic Services Headquarters on Eastfield Road starting Monday, June 22. The project is expected to wrap up by Friday, July 3.

The facility at 500 Eastfield Road houses paramedic dispatch, staff offices and the main training room. The current system is over a decade old and will be replaced with a newer, energy-efficient model. During the installation, crews will need to park work vehicles along Eastfield Road near the facility entrance and may occasionally block a single lane while heavy equipment is moved.

"We want to make sure our paramedics have a safe and comfortable place to work while they respond to your calls," says Yusuf Karimi, Chief, Paramedic Services. "This upgrade will keep the building cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and it will also lower the City's energy costs."

Residents and businesses along Eastfield Road should expect some noise and occasional lane closures between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The City has arranged for a temporary parking area off the main road to keep construction vehicles away from traffic. If you need to access your property during the work, please use the side driveway and follow the directions from the traffic control officers.

Emergency response times will not be affected. Dispatchers and paramedics will remain on site throughout the project. The City is coordinating closely with Fire Rescue to ensure all emergency vehicles can still enter and leave the facility safely.
