Wrenford opens property tax appeals deadline for spring notices

Wrenford is reminding property owners that the deadline to appeal their 2026 interim property tax notice is May 15, 2026. The City’s Revenue Services team is also ready to help with questions about how the tax rate was set and how to pay.

The 2026 interim tax bill, which covers the first half of the year, is due on April 30, 2026. Property owners can pay online through their bank, in person at the Revenue Services counter at Wrenford City Hall, or by enrolling in a pre-authorized monthly payment plan. Payments received after the due date will be charged a monthly penalty.

If you believe your property’s assessed value is incorrect, you have until May 15 to submit an appeal. Appeals are handled through the provincial Assessment Review Board, but the City recommends gathering your property records and any recent comparable sales data before you file. You can also request a review of your tax calculation by contacting Revenue Services directly.

“Setting a fair and transparent property tax rate is one of the most important steps we take each year,” said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. “We worked closely with residents and the budget engagement teams to balance service levels with affordability, and we want to make sure every property owner understands how their tax dollar is being used.”

The 2026 operating budget, which funds local services like garbage collection, road maintenance, and community recreation, was approved earlier this year. You can view the full budget details, see how tax levies were calculated, and read plain-language summaries on the Budget page.
