Wrenford, Ontario — The City of Wrenford Fire Service is proud to welcome eight new recruits to the team. The graduates finished their training on October 26, 2026, at Fire Station 1 (Headquarters) at 210 Water Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 1A6 in the Downtown neighbourhood.
During the program, the recruits spent five months in classrooms and on training grounds. They practiced live-fire scenarios, technical rescue, hazardous materials handling, and fire investigation. Two of the new graduates also earned their paramedic certifications. This means when you call 9-1-1 for a medical emergency or a house fire, these firefighters are ready to respond with a full set of skills.
"Our recruits bring fresh energy, diverse backgrounds, and a deep commitment to serving our community," says Deputy Fire Chief Simon Hartley. "We are dedicated to building a fire service that reflects the people of Wrenford, and these new firefighters are ready to step into that role from day one."
The City operates five fire stations across the city, making sure help is never far away. These new firefighters will be assigned to stations in Benchlands, Northgate, Westbrook, Ambrel Lake, and Stonebridge. They will work alongside experienced crews to protect homes, businesses, and trails throughout Wrenford.
