Wrenford City Hall main entrance renovation 2026 starts

Construction begins Monday, April 27 on the main entrance at Wrenford City Hall. The project will upgrade the Mercer Street entrance to provide better access, safer walking paths, and a more comfortable waiting area for residents.

The renovation work is expected to take six to eight months. The entrance will be closed to the public from April 27 until further notice. You can still access City Hall services by using the accessible entrance on Water Street. The new entrance features wider doors, a level walkway, and a secure entry system.

During the construction period, Revenue Services will operate from the Water Street entrance. You can still pay property taxes, renew business licences, apply for parking permits, and handle bylaw fines at the service counter. If you need to access the Council Chambers or the City Clerk’s Office, please use the Water Street doors as well.

Roads & Winter Maintenance will be managing traffic and parking changes around the site. Temporary parking zones will be set up along Water Street and Albert Street to keep the area clear for construction vehicles. If your route is affected, please follow the posted signs or visit Roads & Winter Maintenance for full details on detours and loading zones.

The City will not charge you extra for these upgrades. The work is part of the City's commitment to making sure all public buildings meet modern accessibility standards.
