The Westbrook Community Arena, located at 40 Westbrook Drive, is officially open to you and rental groups following the completion of urgent roof repairs and ice plant maintenance. City staff finished the work ahead of the busy fall recreation season so you can get back on the ice and into the community hall.
"We are pleased to have the arena back in full operation," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "The roof repairs were critical to protecting our ice-making equipment and ensuring a safe environment for you, your league players, and community event organizers."
The project, managed by the Infrastructure and Planning department, addressed water intrusion that had threatened the arena's mechanical systems. During the closure, crews also performed scheduled maintenance on the chiller and resurfaced both ice pads. The arena's heating, ventilation, and public washrooms have been fully serviced.
Your schedule at the arena is now active. Public skating sessions run on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, and weekday evenings. Bookings for league play, birthday parties, and community events have resumed. If your group had permits delayed during the closure, you will see updated schedules reflected in the online booking system by the end of the week.
You can attend a skating session or reserve an ice slot through Recreation Online. The arena's front desk, staffed Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is also available to answer your questions about rentals and facility features.
