Wrenford Transit will adjust fares for single rides and monthly passes on February 1. The changes will apply to all fixed-route and specialized transit services across the city.
Most single-ride fares will increase by 7 per cent, while monthly and annual passes will see a slightly higher adjustment. The new rates are:
- Adult single ride: $3.50 to $3.75
- Youth and senior single ride: $3.00 to $3.25
- Adult monthly pass: $95.00 to $98.00
- Youth and senior monthly pass: $70.00 to $72.50
- Adult annual pass: $1,050.00 to $1,080.00
- Youth and senior annual pass: $780.00 to $805.00
“Transit is one of the most essential services we provide, and keeping it affordable while maintaining reliable, safe service is a top priority,” said Fiona Gallagher, GM Community Services. “These adjustments help us manage rising costs for vehicles, fuel, insurance and maintenance, while we continue to move forward with our Zero-Emission Fleet Plan.”
The fare changes were approved by Council as part of the 2026 budget process. The additional revenue will support ongoing system enhancements, including the new electric buses rolling out this year, and help keep Wrenford Transit fares competitive with other comparable cities in Ontario.
Residents who use the Wrenford Transit app to buy passes will keep their existing digital fare benefits. Riders who rely on cash or paper tickets can still pay on board or at the Downtown Transit Terminal. For riders who need extra help covering transit costs, the Low-Income Transit Pass programme and the Wrenford Senior Transit Grant continue to offer discounted monthly fares to eligible residents. Both programs are funded through provincial grants.
Full fare details, including Wrenford Access and student passes, are available on the Transit fares and passes page. If you have questions about the changes or need help with a fare card, call 311 inside the city or 519-555-0114 outside city limits. You can also visit the terminal at 1 Market Square, Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
