The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the outdoor pool at the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre will open its gates on Saturday, May 23, 2026. After a winter of maintenance and structural repairs, the facility is ready to welcome swimmers, families, and recreational groups back to the water.
Construction crews from Roads & Winter Maintenance and the City’s engineering team worked closely with recreation staff to complete necessary paving, drainage upgrades, and fence repairs around the pool deck. These improvements ensure a safer and more accessible environment for all visitors throughout the season.
Regular operating hours for the outdoor pool begin on May 23 and run from late June until Labour Day. During the opening weekend, the leisure pool and the 25-metre lap pool will follow a special schedule. Drop-in sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and lifeguard ratios are strictly monitored to keep everyone safe. Members with a Leisure Access Card or a 10-visit pass can enter through the main gate, while single-visit ticket holders will use the east entrance.
“We are thrilled to have the pool open on time and in great condition,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “The upgrades we made over the winter will make a real difference for families and swimmers this year. We have also scheduled extra staff to ensure smooth operations and a welcoming atmosphere.”
Residents who want to take part in swim lessons, water aerobics, or team sports should check the recreation program schedule online. Registration for fall programs opens later this year, but drop-in swim passes and day passes are available for purchase at the front desk or through the City’s online portal.
Please note that the outdoor pool is closed during the first two weeks of May for final system testing and water quality checks. The full season of daily operations runs from late June to Labour Day.
