Registration for the Tamsin River Run 2026 summer race day opens today. The event will take place along the 64-kilometre Tamsin River Trail System, with the main start and finish lines at Riverside Flats Park in the Riverside Flats neighbourhood.
This year’s summer race day offers three new distance options for runners of every level. The 5 km route follows the paved trail from Riverside Flats Park through the Old Mill and Fallsview neighbourhoods. The 10 km route continues past the Centennial Bridge and loops back through the Benchlands. The 1 km family fun run stays entirely within Riverside Flats Park and Corvid Creek Ravine Natural Area, making it perfect for young children and strollers.
“We are thrilled to bring the summer race day back to the trail system,” said Rosa Castellano, Events Coordinator. “It is a great way for residents to get outside, enjoy the river, and connect with their neighbours.”
You can register online through the City’s recreation portal or in person at any recreation centre. Early registration costs $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for youth. Day-of registration will be $35.00 for adults and $15.00 for youth. All registered participants receive a finisher medal and a reusable water bottle. Volunteers are also needed to hand out water and direct runners along the course. To sign up as a volunteer, email the Events team at [email protected].
The course winds through several of our top neighbourhoods, including Riverside Flats, Old Mill, and Fallsview. To learn more about local community groups and events, visit the Neighbourhoods page. Families like yours are encouraged to arrive early to set up picnic spots along the course. The summer race day is fully accessible for wheelchairs and mobility aids, with smooth paved surfaces and designated viewing zones near the finish line.
