The City of Wrenford will run on summer holiday schedules for Canada Day (July 1), Civic Holiday (August 17), and Labour Day (September 7). Wrenford Transit, City Hall, and recreation facilities will adjust their hours and routes to match the long weekends.
You can plan your long weekend around these changes. Wrenford Transit will follow the Sunday timetable on July 1, August 17, and September 7. Routes will run less frequently, and first and last stops will be delayed. Wrenford Access specialized transit will also operate on a holiday schedule, with service hours from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Riders should book their trips early and allow extra travel time.
City Hall and most customer service counters will be closed on July 1, August 17, and September 7. If you need to drop off waste, the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility will stay open on July 1 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but closed on August 17 and September 7. Garbage, Blue Box, and Green Bin collection will continue on their regular days. If a collection day falls on a holiday, the City will not change the pickup schedule.
Recreation and culture programs will adjust for the holidays. Kingfisher Outdoor Pool will be closed on July 1 for the Canada Day celebrations, and the Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre will open at 1:00 p.m. instead of the usual 8:00 a.m. You can still enjoy Canada Day in the Park on July 1 at Centennial Gardens, featuring live music, food vendors, and fireworks.
"We want everyone to have a safe and fun long weekend," said Daniel Osei, Transit Manager. "Checking the Sunday schedule before you head out will save you time and keep the transit system running smoothly."
