Old Mill Museum extends hours for Heritage Week celebrations

Wrenford, ON — March 20, 2026 — The Old Mill Museum & Archives will extend its opening hours for National Heritage Week, running from May 4 to May 10, 2026. The museum, located at 12 Mill Street, will stay open until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during that week to help residents explore the city's history.

Heritage Week is a chance to celebrate the stories and buildings that make Wrenford the City by the Falls. During the extended hours, visitors can tour the restored 1834 grist mill, browse the city archives reading room, and check out the new interactive exhibits on the Tamsin River's role in our early settlement. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and hand out free family activity guides. The museum's gift shop will also offer special Heritage Week pricing on local history books and postcards.

No registration is needed to visit. Just walk in during the new evening hours. If you want to bring a large group or plan a school field trip, please book in advance by calling 519-555-0133 or emailing [email protected].

"We want to make it as easy as possible for families to come down and discover our shared history," said Gwen Lachance, Heritage & Archives Coordinator. "Evening hours give working parents and students a chance to visit without having to take time off work or school."
