Starting today, the Northgate Drop-off Depot is open for the spring and summer season. Located at 1010 Northgate Boulevard, the facility operates on a seasonal schedule to help residents dispose of scrap metal, white goods, and other household items that do not fit in your curbside bins.
During the spring and summer season, the depot is open Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The entry gates close at 3:45 p.m. so vehicles have time to unload and leave safely.
Residents dropping off larger items or household hazardous waste should visit the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility at 3500 Concession 4 Road. The East Wrenford depot is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Household hazardous waste is accepted on Saturdays from May through October.
Remember that yard waste is collected curbside in paper bags on a biweekly schedule from April through the end of November. You can also drop off leaves and small branches at the East Wrenford depot during the same period.
"Opening the depot for the spring season means our neighbours can get rid of unwanted items in a safe and organized way," says Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "We encourage everyone to check our seasonal schedule so they don't make an extra trip."
