Swim lessons at the Northgate Aquatic Centre start in early June, and registration is already open for families looking to build water confidence this summer. The centre, located at 910 Northgate Boulevard, Wrenford, ON N4Q 4B5, will host group lessons for all ages and ability levels, from toddlers to adults.
Recreation registration for spring and summer programs opened on Monday, March 3. You can sign up online or visit the Service Wrenford counter at City Hall. Classes run from late June through Labour Day, with sessions offered every weekday and on weekends.
"We have seen a big jump in interest for our learn-to-swim and water safety courses over the past year," says Fiona Gallagher, GM Community Services. "Northgate is the only facility with a 50-metre pool and a dive tank, so it is the perfect place for kids and adults to practice in a larger environment."
If you are driving to the centre, please note that Northgate Boulevard has ongoing road widening work. The Roads & Winter Maintenance team is managing traffic patterns and will post updated parking guidelines as the work continues. You can find the latest road work updates on the Roads & Winter Maintenance page.
