The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Northgate Aquatic Centre will open for the 2026 season on Saturday, June 27.
Located at 910 Northgate Boulevard, the aquatic centre is one of the city's busiest recreation facilities. When the doors open, swimmers will have access to the 50-metre lap pool, a dive tank with a platform, and a large waterslide. Public swim hours will run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with evening lanes reserved for length swim and aquafit classes.
Registration for spring and summer programs opened on Monday, March 2, 2026. Residents can sign up for lessons, drop-in swim sessions, and summer day camps through the online registration portal. Families are encouraged to book early, as popular time slots fill quickly. The City also offers the Leisure Access Card, which provides discounted registration for residents who qualify.
"We know how much our community values the Northgate Aquatic Centre," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "It is a great place for families to stay active and for athletes to train. We have worked hard to ensure the pools, locker rooms, and waterslide are safe and ready for the summer crowds."
The City is also highlighting how a strong recreation and culture sector supports local businesses. Visitors to the aquatic centre often stop at nearby cafés and shops in the Northgate area. The City's Economic Development team encourages visitors to explore the surrounding businesses and supports local owners through quarterly roundtables and grant programs.
