The City of Wrenford is preparing for the summer swim season, with Northgate Aquatic Centre and Kingfisher Outdoor Pool set to open in late June. Our aquatic staff are currently completing equipment checks, water quality testing, and staff training ahead of the official opening date.
Northgate Aquatic Centre at 910 Northgate Boulevard features a 50-metre lap pool, dive tank, and waterslide. Kingfisher Outdoor Pool at 15 Kingfisher Court offers a seasonal outdoor pool and splash pad. Both locations will follow the standard summer operating hours, with extended evening sessions on weekdays and weekend programming for families. All outdoor amenities remain weather dependent and may adjust if temperatures drop.
Swimming lessons, Swim abilities, and aqua fitness classes will run from late June through Labour Day. Registration for spring and summer programmes opens on Monday, March 1, 2027. You can sign up through Wrenford Recreation Online or in person at the Downtown Transit Terminal or Northgate Aquatic Centre. Spaces fill quickly, so register early.
“We are thrilled to welcome you back to the water,” said Caroline Dubé, Recreation Programs Coordinator. “Whether you are looking for competitive swimming lessons, adaptive programmes, or just a place to cool off, our aquatic team has something for everyone.”
You should review the indoor pool guidelines and swimwear policy before your first visit. Check the drop-in fitness and public swims schedule for open swim times, and book your lessons early. For a full list of aquatic programmes and camp themes, visit the Programs page.
