Northgate Aquatic Centre extends hours for peak summer demand

The City of Wrenford is extending the operating season at the Northgate Aquatic Centre, 910 Northgate Boulevard, Wrenford, ON N4Q 4B5, by one week to meet rising demand for summer aquatic activities. You can call 519-555-0121 for more information. Starting September 2, the facility will remain open daily until September 7, with expanded hours to accommodate swimmers and families.

The new schedule runs Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and weekends from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. This extension builds on the regular summer season that closes on Labour Day, allowing the public more time to use the 50-metre pool, dive tank, and waterslide as the weather stays warm.

"We are thrilled to keep the Northgate Aquatic Centre open longer this year," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "Families have been taking full advantage of our outdoor pools, and this adjustment ensures everyone gets the most out of the swimming season."

Residents planning a visit should check the Northgate Aquatic Centre page for daily programme schedules, swim lesson times, and drop-in rates. General admission and lane swim slots fill quickly during the extended week, so arriving early is recommended.

While the aquatic centre is open for summer activities, the City wants to remind visitors that the surrounding area is also subject to standard traffic and parking rules. The Roads & Winter Maintenance team manages all on-street and lot parking in the Northgate neighbourhood, so please review the Roads & Winter Maintenance guidelines and obey posted signage to avoid tickets. The extended hours will conclude on September 7. After that date, the City will begin its standard fall decommissioning process, allowing Roads & Winter Maintenance and parks staff to transition to winter preparation and snow clearing readiness ahead of the cold months.
