New council sworn in following October 2026 election

The newly elected members of Wrenford City Council will officially take their seats on November 15, 2026, when the 2026–2030 Council is sworn in and holds its first organizational meeting. The ceremony and subsequent session will take place in the Council Chambers at Wrenford City Hall.

Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price will be joined by six newly elected councillors: Marcus Lindqvist (Ward 1), Priya Raman (Ward 2), Tom Beaudry (Ward 3), Grace Whitlock (Ward 4), Arjun Sidhu (Ward 5), and Helen Marchetti (Ward 6). City Clerk Nadia Kowalczyk will administer the oaths of office. You are welcome to attend the swearing-in portion of the evening, which will be livestreamed for those who cannot make it in person.

During the organizational meeting, the Council will establish its governance framework for the next four years. Key items on the agenda include electing a deputy mayor, confirming the meeting schedule for regular Council and standing committee sessions, and reviewing the Council strategic priorities document.

Council will also finalize a series of internal and external appointments. This includes designating City representatives to regional boards and community societies, as well as selecting citizen members to fill vacancies on arm’s-length advisory bodies. Residents appointed to these boards will include positions on the Public Art Committee, the Affordable Housing Strategy Committee, Tamsin Valley Public Health, and the Wrenford Police Service Board. A complete list of these appointments will be published on the Council committees and boards page once the meeting concludes.

“We are looking forward to welcoming our new colleagues and getting straight to work on the issues that matter most to our neighbours,” said City Manager Robert Eng. “The organizational meeting lays the groundwork for a productive term, ensuring that all committees and advisory groups are fully staffed and ready to advise Council.”
