Library board announces fall community history exhibit schedule

The Wrenford Public Library Board has announced the full schedule for its fall community history exhibit series, running from October 6 to December 15, 2026. The program will take place across the Main Branch, Northgate Branch, and Ambrel Lake Branch, showcasing photographs, documents, and artefacts from the city's archives.

This year's theme, "Built by the River," highlights the growth of Wrenford from its 1834 grist mill origins to a modern city of 92,400 residents. You can view original mill blueprints, listen to oral history recordings from long-time residents, and see a rotating photo gallery of the Tamsin River Trail System. The series also features hands-on workshops for you, including sessions on preserving family photographs and digitizing old letters.

"These exhibits remind us how much we share as a community and keep our local stories alive for the next generation," said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "It is wonderful to see the library and the archives working together to bring our history to life."

All drop-in exhibits and public workshops are free. Workshop seats are limited, so you can reserve your spot by calling any branch or visiting the library website. The Old Mill Museum & Archives will also host a special panel discussion on the 2005 flood and the subsequent berm project on November 12.
