Wrenford’s Larch Heights Golf Course will close its fairways and greens for the season on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The course will remain closed through the winter months and is scheduled to reopen in spring 2027.
Every year, the municipal course undergoes a thorough winter preparation process to keep the turf healthy and the playing conditions strong. Crews will aerate the greens and tees, overseed thin areas, and apply winter fertilizer. All irrigation systems will be blown out and drained to prevent freezing damage. Greenkeeping equipment, including mowers and tractors, will be serviced and moved to the clubhouse at 2100 Wrenford Line for secure storage.
“Keeping the course in top shape for the next season takes careful planning and a bit of downtime,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “The grounds crew works closely with turf specialists to ensure the grass recovers fully over the colder months, so we can open the gates with smooth, playable surfaces in the spring.”
Residents who want to play before the closure should book their tee times soon. The course will operate on its regular fall hours leading up to the September 15 shutdown. Green fees, membership rates, and club rentals can be found on the course webpage or by calling 519-555-0126.
