Kingfisher Pool opens for summer season with new features

The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool will open for the summer season on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Located at 15 Kingfisher Court, the facility welcomes swimmers for the full outdoor season, which runs through Labour Day.

Following recent Council approvals, the pool features a newly expanded interactive splash pad with upgraded drainage and shade structures. The City also added extended evening hours for family swims and introduced a Junior Lifeguard Training program for teens aged 14 to 17.

“We want every resident to have safe, affordable access to outdoor recreation this summer,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “The upgrades we made this spring ensure the pool is ready for both active lap swimmers and families looking to cool off.”

Regular programming includes daily leisure swims, drop-in lane swimming, and swimming lessons for all ages. Drop-in admission is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Pre-authorized monthly billing and Leisure Access Cards are available through Service Wrenford at City Hall or online.

Opening dates and any weather-related closures will be posted on the Service Alerts page and the City’s official social media channels. These seasonal upgrades were approved by Council at its May 2026 meeting. Learn more about upcoming decisions on the Council page.
