The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool officially opens on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Located at 15 Kingfisher Court in the Kingfisher neighbourhood, the facility is ready for the summer season following a series of late-winter maintenance projects and minor construction upgrades to the surrounding access road and splash pad area.
Crews from Roads & Winter Maintenance finished paving the new turnaround lane and installed additional street lighting along Kingfisher Court to improve safety for visitors arriving by car or foot. The seasonal outdoor pool and the adjacent splash pad are now fully operational. Lifeguards will begin shifts on June 1, and program staff will start supervising the splash pad from mid-June until Labour Day.
Residents can expect standard summer operating hours from late June through September. Drop-in swim sessions will be available on weekends, and the City will run its usual register-your-little-swimmer swim lessons in July. Families should plan their visits early, as the pool and splash pad often fill up quickly during the hottest afternoons.
"The completion of the access road upgrades and splash pad renovations means we can welcome the Kingfisher neighbourhood to the water right on schedule," says Samuel Adeyemi, General Manager of Infrastructure and Planning. "We want everyone to have a safe, comfortable summer, and these improvements make a big difference for families visiting the site."
What residents need to do:
- Check the operating hours on the Facilities page before you go.
- Review the parking regulations for the area. On-street parking is available on Kingfisher Court and the surrounding residential streets. Remember that during the winter parking ban season, standard rules apply, but in the summer you can park freely while respecting posted seasonal restrictions.
- Bring your own towel, hat, and sunscreen.
- Call 519-555-0125 with any questions about the pool or splash pad.
