The City of Wrenford is postponing the opening of the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool and its splash pad in the Kingfisher neighbourhood. The new opening date is Friday, July 3, 2026.
Recent heavy rainfall along the Tamsin River and Corvid Creek Ravine has caused localized erosion and soft ground near the pool site. Crews from Roads & Winter Maintenance are working to stabilize the access road and drainage ditches to ensure safe entry for you and our staff. The pool is located at 15 Kingfisher Court. While the main facility is ready, safety is our top priority.
The splash pad will open on the same day. Lifeguards and maintenance staff are in full swing preparing the water chemistry and cleaning the deck.
"We want everyone to have a safe and refreshing summer, but we cannot open the gates until the access road is secure and the surrounding drainage is fully functional," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services.
You can check the status of nearby road work and detour maps on the Roads & Winter Maintenance page. If you need to report a pothole or a blocked drainage grate near Kingfisher Court, please use the online service request form.
The outdoor pool season runs through Labour Day. For full hours, admission fees, and swim lesson schedules, visit the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool page.
