Exterior framing is now complete at the new Fire Station 4, located at 1220 Ambrel Lake Road, Wrenford, ON N4Q 5D4. Crews are moving into the next phase of construction, which includes installing roofing and exterior cladding. The project remains on schedule for a spring 2027 opening.
The new station will serve the Ambrel Lake and Southview neighbourhoods, cutting emergency response times for the south-east portion of the city. It will feature four vehicle bays, a dedicated training room, and updated living quarters for on-duty crews. The building was designed with community use in mind, including a multi-purpose room for public safety workshops and a publicly accessible washroom for residents and trail users.
“This framing milestone brings us closer to having a modern, fully equipped station in the south-east,” said Samuel Adeyemi, General Manager of Infrastructure and Planning. “The structural work confirms the building’s layout and keeps us on track for a 2027 opening. We are also ensuring that construction traffic and noise stay within City guidelines so nearby residents are minimally impacted.”
You can follow the project’s progress through the Development Applications section. If you live nearby, you will notice that construction traffic and noise remain within City guidelines to keep disruptions to a minimum. All work follows the Construction season schedule and Street Use Permit rules to protect the road surface and manage heavy equipment.
