Fire department conducts training exercise at Eastfield Arenas 2026

The City of Wrenford advises the public that Fire Rescue, Wrenford Paramedic Services and the Wrenford Police Service will hold a joint training exercise at Eastfield Arenas (620 Eastfield Road) on Saturday, July 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

During the drill, multiple emergency vehicles and personnel from all three services will be on-site. The exercise will simulate a large-scale incident requiring coordinated scene management, patient triage and safe evacuation. Training units from Fire Station 5 and the Police Service will stage nearby to practice rapid response and communication protocols.

“Regular joint training is how we keep our response times sharp and our teams ready for any situation,” says Deputy Fire Chief Simon Hartley. “It is vital that Fire Rescue, Paramedics and the Police Service practice working together so we can deliver the safest possible care to our community when it matters most.”

This is a training exercise only. There are no public safety concerns. Residents and visitors in the area may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles, simulated sirens and occasional loud noises. The drills are fully controlled and pose no risk to the public. We ask that you avoid the Eastfield Arenas parking lot and surrounding streets during the exercise window.

If you need to contact emergency services, always dial 9-1-1. For non-emergency municipal inquiries, call 311 or 519-555-0100.
