East Wrenford Waste Facility expands hazardous waste drop-off

Starting October 1, the City of Wrenford is expanding hazardous waste drop-off services at the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility so you have more convenient times to dispose of household chemicals, paints, and batteries safely.

The facility, located at 3500 Concession 4 Road, will now accept hazardous waste on the first Saturday of every month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in addition to its regular Saturday hours. This change responds to your feedback asking for more predictable and accessible collection times. The expansion is part of the City's broader waste diversion goals, which aim to keep 60 per cent of residential waste out of the landfill by 2030.

You can bring items like used motor oil, antifreeze, cleaning solvents, aerosol cans, and batteries to the new drop-off window. Items must be in their original containers or clearly labelled. Large quantities of commercial waste are not accepted. Drivers should check the facility webpage for a full list of accepted materials and safety guidelines. Business owners looking to dispose of larger volumes of commercial waste can find information on proper handling and disposal through the Economic Development team.

"We want to make it as easy as possible for you to keep hazardous materials out of the environment," said Robert Eng, City Manager. "This expanded schedule ensures you have a clear window to drop off these items safely without having to travel to a distant provincial facility."
