The City of Wrenford is reminding residents that the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility, located at 3500 Concession 4 Road, will be closed on Monday, May 1 for the statutory holiday.
It will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2. The depot is normally open Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
As the snow melts and the overnight parking ban ends, many residents will be clearing driveways and yards of winter debris. The drop-off depot is the best place to dispose of old salt bags, snow shovels, and other seasonal items. The facility also accepts leaf and yard waste through the end of November, as well as household hazardous waste on Saturdays from May to October.
"We know the end of winter means a lot of extra material to sort through. Making sure the depot is open and clearly marked helps everyone get their spring cleanup done safely and efficiently," said Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor.
Residents are encouraged to plan their visits ahead of time. Large items, construction debris, and yard waste should be separated from general garbage and recycling. For a full list of accepted materials and to see how to prepare your carts, visit the Garbage & Recycling page or call 519-555-0128.
