The City of Wrenford wants to let residents know that the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility will adjust its hours for the upcoming August long weekend. The depot will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2026, in observance of the Civic Holiday.
The facility will reopen on Tuesday, August 4, and operate on its regular schedule—Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.—for the rest of the month. If you plan to drop off household hazardous waste, yard waste, or other materials, please bring your items before the holiday or return after the weekend. Regular curbside collection continues as usual, and you can still use the Northgate Drop-off Depot on its scheduled Wednesday and Saturday hours.
"We encourage residents to check the schedule online or call our customer service line before visiting," says Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "Having the depot closed for one day helps our crew get a well-deserved break, and it keeps our operations running smoothly all year round."
For updates on collection schedules, depot hours, and seasonal waste programs, visit the Garbage & Recycling page. You can also sign up for alerts through the Wrenford Waste Watch text service. If you need to report a missed collection or a service issue during the holiday weekend, call 311 or leave a voicemail at 519-555-0100.
While summer waste programs are in full swing, the Roads & Winter Maintenance team is already mapping out routes and checking equipment for the upcoming season. For more information on seasonal service adjustments, visit the City Services section.
