City Council has officially confirmed the date for the 2026 municipal election. The vote will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, setting the stage for residents to choose a new mayor and six ward councillors for the next four-year term.
All voting stations across Wrenford will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day. Residents are welcome to vote at any designated polling location within the city, though they are encouraged to choose a station close to their home. Every location is fully accessible and prepared to handle high volumes of voters.
To cast a ballot, you must be 18 years of age or older, a Canadian citizen, and a resident of the City of Wrenford on election day. You will need to bring two pieces of identification that prove your identity and current address. If you cannot bring both, a signed declaration from an authorized voter at your address is also accepted.
“We are working closely with our community partners and election staff to ensure a safe, smooth, and accessible voting process for every resident,” said City Clerk Nadia Kowalczyk. “Our teams are already training staff and volunteers to make sure your vote is counted quickly and accurately.”
Residents are encouraged to check their voter registration status online and review the list of candidates once nominations close later this month. Early voting options and mail-in ballot requests are also available for those who cannot attend a polling station on the day. The City is also encouraging residents to engage with their neighbourhoods through local programming and community events leading up to the vote. You can find details on how cultural spaces and community groups are hosting voter education sessions on our Arts & Heritage page.
