Canada Day in the Park returns with free family activities

Join the City of Wrenford for Canada Day in the Park today, July 1. The celebration is underway at Centennial Gardens with a full day of free music, food, and family activities for residents of all ages.

Gates opened at 11:00 a.m. on the event lawn near the cenotaph. The main stage kicked off at 1:00 p.m. with performances from local musicians and dance groups. Throughout the day, you can visit the Arts & Heritage cultural corner to sample food from local community groups, join craft workshops, and watch live entertainment.

"Canada Day is a chance for all of Wrenford to come together and celebrate the diversity and spirit of our community," said City Manager Robert Eng. "We have planned a full day of free activities for families, and we look forward to seeing everyone at Centennial Gardens."

Several community partners are helping to run the event. Local volunteers will host a reading corner with free books and story time for kids. Wrenford Police Service and Fire Rescue will staff safety booths where you can learn about fire prevention and community safety.

Admission is free. If you are driving, expect extra traffic on Victoria Street. The best way to get there is on Wrenford Transit. Routes 3, 7, and 12 will run on a special holiday schedule with extra trips from the Downtown Transit Terminal. Dial 311 for route details.

Bring a blanket, your favourite snacks, and your neighbours. For more information about Canada Day and other upcoming events, visit the News & Events page.
