Families in Wrenford can cool off this summer as the splash pad at Ambrel Lake Park officially opens for the 2026 season. The facility will welcome visitors starting Saturday, June 1, and remain open through Labour Day.
The splash pad operates daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., weather permitting. Located inside Ambrel Lake Park, the amenity is part of the City’s broader Parks and Recreation capital program, which is funded through the approved 2026 operating and capital budget. The City prioritizes free, accessible outdoor recreation for residents, and splash pads remain a zero-cost attraction for all neighbourhoods.
Alongside the splash pad, outdoor pools at the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre and Northgate Aquatic Centre will open in late June. Residents planning their summer schedules can view the full drop-in swimming and program calendar on the Recreation and Culture page.
"Keeping our outdoor water amenities open and fully staffed is a budget priority we share with residents," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We designed the 2026 budget to protect these neighbourhood assets while keeping property tax increases predictable for homeowners."
To ensure a safe visit, please supervise children at all times, bring sunscreen, and stay hydrated. The City maintains all equipment daily and tests water quality regularly in accordance with provincial guidelines. If you notice a malfunction or need to report a concern, contact the City Services team at 519-555-0100 or visit the City Services page for contact details.
For more information on how recreation funding is allocated, review the Budget engagement reports or check the Property Tax page for details on how municipal levies support community amenities. We wish all families a safe and refreshing summer.
