Starting January 21, the City of Wrenford Parks & Trails team began grooming the winter trail at Ambrel Lake Park. Regular snow clearing and ice treatment make the loop safe for skating, walking, and cross-country skiing.
The trail is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Crews clear snow from the main loop and treat ice buildup near the boardwalk, playground, and picnic shelters. If you are skating or walking, please watch for grooming equipment and give crews a wide berth.
"We want to make sure the trail is safe and smooth for everyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors this winter," says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "A well-maintained trail system also encourages visitors to explore our downtown. Many skaters and walkers stop at local shops, cafes, and restaurants along Mercer Street before or after their trip."
Skaters and walkers should keep dogs on a leash and avoid cutting across the berm. Cutting across the berm damages the trail base and makes the grooming work harder to maintain. Please pack out your trash and take it home with you.
