Ambrel Lake Park spring trail maintenance begins

Starting Monday, April 13, 2026, City crews will begin spring trail maintenance at Ambrel Lake Park. The work includes clearing winter debris, repairing the boardwalk, and planting new vegetation along the shoreline loop.

Trails in the park will see reduced traffic during the work. Some sections of the boardwalk near the picnic shelters will be closed for up to three weeks while crews replace damaged timber and apply protective sealant. Residents can still access the main trail loops, but please watch for signage and follow detour routes posted by City staff.

“Spring maintenance is a key part of keeping our parks safe and welcoming for everyone,” says Samuel Adeyemi, General Manager of Infrastructure and Planning. “We are also taking this chance to improve the boardwalk and plant native shrubs that will help stabilize the shoreline and protect the trail from erosion.”

Residents can help by staying on marked trails while crews work. If you notice damaged fencing, downed branches, or any other issues that need attention, report them through Wrenford 311 or the City’s online service request form. Please avoid bringing pets off-leash in the construction zones, as the area will be active with equipment and workers.

The City will continue to monitor trail conditions throughout the season. For updates on park projects, trail status, and seasonal maintenance schedules, visit the Parks & Trails page. If you have questions about trail usage or upcoming park improvements, contact the Planning and Development team through the Development Applications portal.
