Ambrel Lake Park splash pad opens for the 2026 season

The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the new splash pad at Ambrel Lake Park is officially open for the 2026 season. Starting this weekend, you can enjoy the interactive water play area located just north of the boardwalk in the Ambrel Lake neighbourhood. The splash pad is open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., weather permitting, and is free for all residents.

Construction of the splash pad was approved through the Development Applications process earlier this year. Site plan controls ensured the installation meets all accessibility and environmental standards. This new feature adds to the playground and picnic shelters at the park, giving you a full day of outdoor recreation in the Ambrel Lake neighbourhood.

"We are thrilled to bring this new water feature to the Ambrel Lake neighbourhood," said Samuel Adeyemi, General Manager of Infrastructure and Planning. "It was designed with safety and accessibility in mind, and we know it will be a popular spot for families this summer."

You are encouraged to bring sunscreen, water bottles, and towels. The City reminds families to supervise children at all times near the water play area. If you are planning a visit, the park's picnic shelters can be booked in advance through Recreation & Culture, and the nearby Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre offers change rooms and a café.

The splash pad will remain open through Labour Day weekend. If the area experiences heavy rain or lightning, the water system will shut down automatically for safety and will reopen once conditions improve. You can check the City's Service Alerts page for any weather-related closures.
