The parking lot at Ambrel Lake Park will close for paving repairs from Friday, June 5 to Friday, June 12, 2026, to fix cracks and improve drainage. City crews will mill the existing surface and lay fresh asphalt on the main lot off Ambrel Lake Road. You can still access the park's boardwalk and playground using the side paths along Ambrel Lake Road. The City will post updated closure notices on the Service Alerts page as work progresses.
"This is a quick fix to stop water from pooling under the asphalt and causing bigger potholes later," says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "We know it is a popular spot for summer visitors, and we will do all we can to keep the disruption short."
Drivers are reminded to slow down in construction zones and follow all posted signs. If you need a parking permit for the neighbourhood, you can apply online through the Parking section. For questions about the project, contact Wrenford 311 at 519-555-0100 or visit Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 1A1.
The work is expected to finish ahead of the busy summer season. Please plan your visits accordingly and check the Service Alerts page for real-time updates. For more information on park amenities, including the bookable picnic shelters and the boardwalk trail, see the Ambrel Lake Park page.
