Ambrel Lake Park ice resurfacing complete ahead of Ice Days

City crews finished resurfacing the outdoor rink at Ambrel Lake Park on Tuesday, putting the ice in perfect condition ahead of the annual Wrenford Ice Days festival. You can now enjoy the smooth surface at Riverside Flats Park and Ambrel Lake Park as the city gears up for its biggest winter celebration.

The resurfacing work was carried out by the Parks & Trails division over the past week, following several days of freezing temperatures that allowed crews to lay down fresh, even ice. Maintenance crews will continue to groom the rinks daily through the rest of February to ensure safe and reliable conditions for families and visitors.

"A smooth, well-maintained rink is essential for a successful Ice Days festival," said City Manager Robert Eng. "Getting the ice ready early gives our teams a solid foundation to keep conditions safe all weekend long, and it supports the local businesses that rely on the thousands of visitors who come downtown and to our parks."

You should bring your own skates and helmets. Water and washroom facilities are available at both locations. During warm spells, ice conditions can change quickly, so you should use your best judgment and follow all posted safety signs.
