Ambrel Lake Branch Library window replacements 2026

The City of Wrenford is replacing aging windows at the Wrenford Public Library — Ambrel Lake Branch starting September 8. City infrastructure crews will complete the work over three weeks to improve energy efficiency and keep the building comfortable for you and your family.

Work will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. The library will stay open during the project. Crews will work inside and outside the building. Some windows in the south-facing reading room will be closed while the glass is removed. There will be some noise and vibration during drilling and installation.

"We are making these upgrades now to stop heat loss and lower the library's energy costs for years to come," said Samuel Adeyemi, General Manager of Infrastructure and Planning. "We have planned the work to keep disruptions to a minimum for you."

Delivery trucks will arrive at the main entrance on Ambrel Lake Road. There may be brief lane closures when large loads arrive on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Traffic will flow normally otherwise. Pedestrians on the sidewalk near the library may see temporary fencing and equipment. The City of Wrenford thanks neighbours and visitors for their patience while we improve the building.

If you notice damage to the road or sidewalk near the library, or have a concern about the work, please contact Roads & Winter Maintenance.

The window replacement is part of the City's 2026 Capital Renewal Program. For more information about the library branch, visit Wrenford Public Library — Ambrel Lake Branch.
