The Wrenford Public Library is opening a new Small Business Resource Hub at the Main Branch on Mercer Street, effective March 3, 2025. The dedicated space is designed to give local entrepreneurs, freelancers, and startup founders free access to high-speed internet, quiet workstations, and monthly one-on-one mentoring sessions.
The hub will house a physical collection of business planning guides, provincial funding application forms, and local market research. Library staff will partner with the Economic Development team to host workshops on practical topics like applying for a business licence, navigating zoning rules, and marketing to your neighbours. The space will also offer reservable meeting rooms for clients and contractors.
"We know that starting a business can feel overwhelming," said Tara Sandhu, CEO of the Wrenford Public Library Board. "This hub is about giving our community the practical tools and the quiet space they need to turn their ideas into viable enterprises."
Residents can reserve meeting rooms online through the library's booking system. Drop-in hours for business mentoring begin on March 3 and run every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. No appointment is needed for the drop-in sessions, but seating is limited.
