Wrenford Paramedic Services Headquarters HVAC repair

Starting Monday, June 16, crews will be replacing the heating and cooling system at the Wrenford Paramedic Services Headquarters at 500 Eastfield Road. The work is scheduled to last through Friday, June 20. During the repair, paramedic staff will move to a temporary workspace inside the same building so emergency calls continue without interruption.

The building's current system is nearing the end of its life. Upgrading it now means fewer breakdowns during the hottest summer days and the coldest winter nights. While the new equipment is being installed, some dispatch staff will work from a relocated desk near the main lobby. If you call 9-1-1, your call will still be answered right away. We have added extra staff to the dispatch lines to keep wait times short.

"We want to make sure our paramedics and dispatchers have a safe, comfortable place to work so they can focus entirely on helping you," said Yusuf Karimi, Chief, Paramedic Services. "We appreciate your patience while we finish this important upgrade."

Because the work involves heavy equipment and delivery trucks, there will be some changes to the parking area around the headquarters. Delivery vehicles will use the loading zone on Eastfield Road, which may cause brief delays near the intersection with Corvid Way. Our Roads & Winter Maintenance team will work closely with the paramedic staff to keep the main entrance clear for emergency vehicles at all times. Crews are on standby to manage traffic flow and assist with any needed road closures.

Residents should expect normal service levels throughout the week. If you need paramedic help, call 9-1-1. For updates on this project or other city work, check our Service Alerts page or call the main line at 519-555-0100.
